WCED 10-Module Metal PME Fault Detection Unit – 40A MCB & Load Balancing

The WCED WMKPME10/LB is a metal 10-module EV distribution board that combines PME fault detection, 40A C-curve MCB protection and load management in one enclosure. It is designed for EV chargers that do not have integral PME protection, earth-leakage protection or overload protection, and that require load management.

If a PME (PEN) fault is detected, the unit completely disconnects live, neutral and earth from the vehicle, so no earth rod is needed. Load management is provided by a current transformer (CT) fitted on the incoming supply cable, which stops the charger from overloading the installation. This is ideal for properties with existing high-current appliances such as induction hobs, electric showers and electric heating. Its IP40 enclosure is suited to indoor installations such as garages and utility areas, and it must be installed in accordance with BS 7671.
