WCED 12-Module IP65 PME Fault Detection Unit – 40A C-Curve RCBO & Load Balancing

The WCED WPEPME12/LB is a weatherproof ip65 12-module EV distribution board that combines PME fault detection, 40A C-curve RCBO protection and load management in one enclosure. It is designed for EV chargers that do not have integral PME protection, earth-leakage protection or overload protection, and that require load management. It also includes surge protection.

If a PME (PEN) fault is detected, the unit completely disconnects live, neutral and earth from the vehicle, so no earth rod is needed. Load management is provided by a current transformer (CT) fitted on the incoming supply cable, which stops the charger from overloading the installation. This is ideal for properties with existing high-current appliances such as induction hobs, electric showers and electric heating. Its IP65 enclosure is suited to external wall mounting next to the charge point, and it must be installed in accordance with BS 7671.
